Essential Baby Registry Checklist: 5 Often Forgotten Items

When I was building my baby registry as a first-time mom, I didn't even know where to start. Although there are plenty of tools out there like Babylist and friend recommendations, there will inevitably be items that you wish you added after you have that precious bundle of joy in your arms. Here are 10 items that I wish I had added to my registry, so you can add them to yours!

Car Mirror

A baby car mirror can be a valuable accessory for safety. Having a mirror allows you to keep an eye on your baby in the rear-facing car seat while you are driving. Using a car mirror provides me peace of mind that my baby is comfortable and safe. I love being able to peek back and see my little one sleeping or playing with a toy. I would highly recommend getting a car mirror with remote-controlled light to easily see your baby at night, such as this one or this one.

Stroller Fan

A stroller fan can help keep your baby cool and comfortable during hot weather or when the air conditioning just doesn't seem to be enough. The gentle breeze it can provide helps to prevent your little one from overheating. This is not only perfect for travel, but also for every day use. In a pinch, I have even used it for myself! Swing

Truly, if you are going to add one item to your registry, please let it be an electric swing! Our baby absolutely loved his swing. We would put him in it for naps and for relaxing. Not only did he love it - we loved it too! It allowed us to have some moments of reprieve (you know that there won't be many of those!). I HIGHLY recommend this swing in particular!

Wagon

Wagons are one of the most versatile pieces of baby gear. First off, wagons are a great mode of safe transportation for your baby and/or child. It is convenient and very easy to operate. It is also useful to use when you are responsible for transporting both your little one and equipment (aka BEACH GEAR!). If you plan to use your wagon on the sand for those summer beach vacations, like we do, I would highly recommend investing in one that has large wheels made for this purpose. Although you can use it both on and off sand, you will certainly want it to be good for the former. I also would suggest getting one with a canopy like this one or this one to protect your child from those hot sun rays (especially after a long day in the sun!)

White Noise Machine

I'm sure you are wondering how I could have forgotten a white noise machine on my registry. Well - honestly it was one of those items that I kept seeing over and over, but for some reason I didn't think we would use it. WRONG. Absolutely WRONG. Big mistake! We use it every time our little guy sleeps in his crib. More specifically, I would definitely recommend a Hatch product. Not only does it provide white noise, but it also provides colorful light. You can easily customize the sounds, lights, and timings from the smartphone app. I could not recommend this enough - sleep is precious for those young ones!
